The Magnum Energy ME-SBC Smart Battery Combiner charges and isolates a second battery bank using a single charging source, letting one alternator, solar charge controller, or inverter/charger keep both a main and auxiliary bank topped off without installing a dedicated second charger. It automatically detects 12 or 24 volt DC systems and transfers up to 25 amps continuously between banks, making it a straightforward upgrade for marine, RV, and off grid solar setups running a house bank alongside a starting or auxiliary bank.

The ME-SBC uses a MOSFET switching circuit to provide bi-directional charging with virtually no voltage drop. Whichever bank sees a charge source first passes current to the other once it reaches the adjustable Connect Voltage setpoint, and disconnects automatically at the Low and High Voltage setpoints to prevent over-charging or under-charging. Systems needing more than 25 amps can use the ME-SBC's solenoid drive instead.

Installation is a simple three wire hookup to an oversized terminal block, and a separate accessories terminal block adds an optional solenoid drive or remote voltage sense line for long wire runs. The ME-SBC works as a standalone unit and can also be paired with Magnum's ME Series and MS Series inverter/chargers.
